Bastard Tail is an exciting F2 cross between the Black Bastard and an unknown pepper variety, producing uniquely elongated, twisted pods with dramatic curves and irregular shapes. The pods shown ripen to a brilliant red and develop a distinctive tail-like appearance, giving this variety plenty of character and making it a standout among superhot peppers.

Heat is estimated at approximately 600,000–900,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), delivering an intense, long-lasting burn while still allowing the pepper’s rich, slightly fruity flavor to come through. Bastard Tail is an excellent choice for hot sauces, powders, flakes, and growers who enjoy working with unusual and developing varieties.

Please note: This is an F2-generation cross and is not yet stable. Significant variation is possible from plant to plant. Future pods may differ in shape, size, color, texture, and heat level, and some plants may display characteristics not seen in the pictured pods. This makes Bastard Tail especially interesting for growers who enjoy discovering and selecting new phenotypes.
