Da Hulk is a rare and striking superhot Capsicum chinense variety with an impressive pedigree. Originally created by grower Marco Sanna, this pepper combines genetics from Jay’s Red Ghost Scorpion, Pink Tiger, and Carolina Reaper, with later selection and stabilization work credited to Ross Barber. The result is an unusual superhot known for dramatic coloration, wicked pod shapes, and serious heat.

The pods are heavily textured and contorted, often developing pronounced folds, bumps, and pointed or stinger-like tails. One of Da Hulk’s standout characteristics is its color progression. Pods can begin with deep purple to nearly black pigmentation mixed with green, gradually transitioning through shades of green before reaching a creamy yellow to mustard coloration when fully ripe. Plants are equally impressive, commonly displaying dark stems and purple-toned foliage that make them an excellent ornamental addition to the pepper garden.

Heat is estimated at 1,000,000+ Scoville Heat Units (SHU), placing Da Hulk firmly in the superhot category. Beneath the intense burn is a strong, distinctive chinense flavor and aroma that works well for extremely hot sauces, powders, flakes, and other applications where serious heat is desired.
